The Veneer Source was formed with one goal, operating our business with integrity while providing our customers with well produced quality veneer and good value.
We maintain a modest overhead and instead focus on the quality of our products and investing in our company. The Veneer Source prides itself on quick, reliable service and stands behind everything we offer. We are also committed to our vendors who, like our customers, we feel are partners in our business. We have approaching 65 years cumulative experience in procurement, manufacturing and marketing wood veneer from around the world. We place a lot of value on the people in our organization, striving to employ team members that are educated, empowered and dedicated to servicing our customers. President: Paul Stone; Colorado
I am a second generation business person in the forest products industry. My father Gene Stone spent a lifetime selling hardwood plywood in the western United States. I grew up in Orange County California and lived there until 2009. I finished my 2 year degree at Fullerton College and graduated with high honors. At the same time, to put myself through college, I was working as a cabinet maker. I was pursuing a four year architecture degree when I started in the veneer business with a large corporation and a world leader in the international veneer market. I spent seven years in a sales capacity traveling the western United States. I was given an opportunity to manage their facility in Los Angeles for the next nine years. It allowed me multiple opportunities for growth none more important than traveling to Europe and South America procuring exotic veneer. After my 16 year tenure there I wanted a challenge and started a veneer business with two partners. We quickly grew the company but along the way lost some of our core values. In early 2010 I left that business to start the Veneer Source LLC to recapture those values I felt were so important.
Account Manger: Harrison Stone; Colorado
Harrison is based out of the Colorado sales office but regularly travels to the warehouse in Indiana to meet with customers, make inspections with suppliers and prepare new material. Harrison has traveled to both Europe and Asia on several occasions assisting in the procurement process. He spent two years full time in Indiana managing the warehouse facility, learning the processes and the product, and preparing himself for a sales roll. He spent two years in a sales roll outside of the industry and had significant success. He attended the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and continues in online learning. Harrison is a people person and enjoys interacting with customers, building relationships, and trying to understand their needs. His goal is to learn the procurement side of the business as well, refine his business skills and eventually mange the company.
Executive Assistant, Shareholder: Wendy Stone; Colorado
Wendy does mostly behind-the-scenes support work to assist with travel preparation, accounting, and day-to-day functions of the Veneer Source’s western office. She is based in Colorado where she manages details when the staff is traveling. She also coordinates events, and outreach and helps manage relationships with clients. In addition, she is a Registered Nurse of 35 years. She has spent the majority of her nursing career as a Cardiovascular nurse but for the last 10 years has been practicing Forensic Nursing, caring for victims of violence. In her current role, she also gets the opportunity to teach nursing students, act as a preceptor for nurses from all across the nation and testifies in court as an expert witness.
Creative Assistant: Kennedy Stone; Colorado
As a new college student, Kennedy currently lives in Seattle and attends the University of Washington where she is on the Dean’s List. She grew up and went to high school in Castle Rock, Colorado where she held a 4.1 GPA. She lettered in Academics, Theater, Choir, and Student Council. Kennedy currently volunteers at a Seattle food bank while attending college. She is a welcome addition to our staff on the creative end as she begins to learn about running a business and the intricacies of the veneer industry. Kennedy is extremely well-rounded and has traveled extensively in both Europe and Asia. She appreciates the value of professional relationships and the importance of hard work and problem-solving. Through her experience here she hopes to master the art of business management and deepen her knowledge of the product. She is excited that her opportunity at The Veneer Source will continue to open new doors as she works alongside her family and furthers her studies.
