Ash, White
Latin name: Fraxinus excelsior
Origin: Europe and North America
Characteristics: Available widely as both flat cut and quarter grain. European is also available in burl. Light yellow to almost white color depending on the region. The European is often available in FSC “pure”. The North American logs have been geographically quarantined for several years because of the Emerald Ash Borer Beetle leading to some reduced production.
Uses: Fine furniture and architectural millwork.
