Carpathian Elm Burl
Latin name: Ulmus campestris
Origin: Carpathian Mountains in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe
Characteristics: Color varies from reddish-brown to pale pink-with olive tones. Like most elm many logs have tension resulting in buckle in the veneer that needs to be flattened prior to splicing. Burls tend to have good dimension.
Uses: Architectural woodwork and fine furniture. Some luxury car dashboards.
