On the verge of become petrified, this European Oak log was salvaged from a peat bog at just the right time. The chemical reaction between the acidic conditions of the bog and tannins in the wood itself has created beautiful grey coloring from edge to edge. This consistency is rarely found in bog Oak where the grey tone is often confined to the outer quarters of the leaves.
With over 15,000sf of veneer from one log, this flitch is a great size for an architectural project. For more info, bundle tallies or to request samples please contact your TVS Representative.
